Study of Hands
My journey into charcoal rendering of hands happened over several years. I find hands can sometimes be more expressive than facial features. Hands, with their intricate gestures and subtle curves, are repositories for stories that words alone can scarcely capture. The use of charcoal depicts the contours of the hand, the folds of the fingers, and the subtle variations in tone that give the hand its character. Each bold and expressive stroke often becomes a dialogue between the artist and their inner self. Hands do more than simply mimic life, they embody it.
